Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use the BeTeam website, including people with disabilities. This page explains what we have done to make the site accessible, what is not accessible yet, and how to tell us when something does not work.
What this statement covers
This statement covers the website beteamapp.com: the homepages, content and blog pages, competition pages and fan prediction pages.
It does not cover the BeTeam app for iOS and Android, or third-party sites the website links to (such as the App Store and Google Play).
Conformance status
The website partially conforms to Israeli Standard 5568, which is based on WCAG 2.0 level AA, as required by the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013.
Partially conforms means that some requirements are met and some are not yet. The gaps we know about are listed below, and we are working to close them.
What we have done
- We tested representative pages in Hebrew and English with an automated checker (axe-core) and fixed what it found.
- Every page declares its language and direction. Hebrew and Arabic pages read right to left.
- We darkened secondary (grey) text that did not meet the required contrast ratio (4.5:1).
- Images have text alternatives. A logo shown next to the name BeTeam is marked as decorative, so a screen reader does not read the name twice.
- Buttons and links without visible text, such as close buttons and the store badges, have a name a screen reader announces.
- Headings follow a logical order, and page regions (header, main content, footer) are marked up.
- Links and buttons can be reached with the Tab key, with a visible focus indicator. The homepages have a "Skip to content" link.
- On the fan prediction pages, wide tables that scroll sideways can also be scrolled from the keyboard.
- The app download window closes with the Esc key.
- Every page links to this statement from its footer.
Known limitations
These are the gaps we know about as of the date below:
- We have not yet tested the site by hand with a screen reader (such as NVDA or VoiceOver). Testing so far has been automated, plus a manual keyboard check of several pages.
- The app screen mock-ups on the homepages and competition pages contain very small text. They are illustrations, and the information in them is also given in the page's regular text.
- When the app download window (with a QR code) opens, keyboard focus does not move into it automatically.
- In the comparison tables on competition pages, the top corner cell is empty and has no header.
- On the fan prediction pages, some of the content at the top of the page is not inside a marked-up region.
- The charts on the research pages are described by a title, but have not yet been checked by hand with a screen reader.
- Short pass-through pages, such as league invite links and the app download redirect, have no footer, so they do not link to this statement.
- This statement exists in English and Hebrew. Pages in other languages link to the English version.
- Third-party content, such as the app store pages, is outside our control.
Physical accessibility
BeTeam has no office or premises open to the public. The whole service is provided through the website and the app.
