About
The story behind BeTeam
BeTeam is a small social product with one goal: make sports prediction leagues between friends feel fun, fair, and effortless. We don't sell ourselves as the biggest, the flashiest, or the most-downloaded. We're the app that does the boring stuff — counting points, locking predictions, organizing the table — so you can spend Saturday arguing about who actually called the match.
What BeTeam is
A social sports prediction game for private groups. You create a league, invite the people you already watch sports with, and predict the result of each match before kickoff. Points are awarded automatically. The leaderboard updates itself. The arguments take care of themselves.
At launch we cover football and basketball — the two most-watched sports in our target markets. More sports follow as match data becomes available.
What BeTeam is not
- Not a betting app. No bookmakers, no wagers, no odds.
- Not gambling. No deposits, no withdrawals, no real-money winnings.
- Not paid. The app is free to use. You can create or join a league without spending anything.
- Not a clone of any existing fantasy sports product. BeTeam is a prediction league — you pick who wins and by how much, not who scores.
Why we built it
Most groups of friends already predict match results — in WhatsApp, in a group chat, over a beer. The predictions get lost. Someone always claims they "called it." The spreadsheet breaks halfway through the season. BeTeam is the app version of the bolão / the office pool / the ניחושים — same social ritual, properly organized.
We made a deliberate choice early on: no money inside the app. Zero. Not for premium features, not for prize pools, not for in-app purchases. The whole point is friendly competition between people who already know each other. Adding money would change what the product is.
