Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you create a BeTeam account we store your email, display name, and any profile details you choose to provide (such as country). We collect anonymous usage data to improve the app.

How we use it

Your data is used to operate the service: signing you in, syncing your BeTeams across devices, and sending the notifications you've opted into. We don't sell your data to third parties.

We may also publish aggregated, anonymized, non-identifying statistics about overall app usage — for example in research reports or press materials. These aggregates never contain your name, email, exact location, or any information that could identify you or your private leagues.

Public pools & leaderboards

Some BeTeams are public. When you choose to join a public pool, your display name and score are shown on that pool's leaderboard, visible to everyone in the pool. Private BeTeams are visible only to people you invite. You decide which pools to join, and you're asked to confirm before joining a public one.

Where it's stored

Account credentials are managed by Supabase. App data lives in a Postgres database. Push tokens (for notifications) are stored securely and only used to deliver app messages.

Analytics

We measure how the app and this website are used so we can fix what's broken and improve what isn't working. This covers which screens and pages are opened, which features are used, and technical details such as app version, platform, language, approximate country (derived from your IP address) and time zone.

We use the following providers for this: Google Analytics (this website, and Google Analytics for Firebase in the app), PostHog (product analytics in the app), AppsFlyer (measuring which invite or campaign brought a new install), and Sentry (crash and error reports). We also run our own first-party measurement on this website, which stores no cookies and no directly identifying data.

On this website, Google Analytics stores cookies on your device. In the app, analytics is tied to your account identifier and a device-level identifier so we can tell returning use from new use.

Advertising

BeTeam is free and supported by ads. We work with third-party advertising partners — Google AdMob and Liftoff Monetize (Vungle) — to show ads in the app. To display and measure these ads, our partners may process your device's advertising identifier, approximate location (derived from your IP address), and limited information about the ads you've seen and how you use the app.

With your permission, ads may be personalized to be more relevant. On iOS we ask through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; in the EU and UK we ask through a consent form. If you don't grant permission, you'll still see ads — just not personalized ones. You can change this anytime in your device settings (on iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking) and reset or limit your advertising identifier there.

Your rights

You can edit your profile, change your password, or delete your account from the Settings screen. Account deletion is permanent and removes your BeTeams, guesses, and chips history. See how to delete your account or how to delete specific data.

Children

BeTeam is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
