How to delete specific data from BeTeam
You can remove specific items from BeTeam without deleting your whole account. This page covers the most common deletion requests. To delete your entire account instead, see delete account.
Delete a comment you posted
- Open the BeTeam app and navigate to the comment you want to remove.
- Long-press the comment (or tap the ⋯ menu next to it).
- Tap Delete.
- The comment body is replaced with "[comment removed]" immediately.
Delete a chat message you sent
- Open the BeTeam → tap the Chat tab.
- Long-press the message you want to remove.
- Tap Delete.
- The message is removed for you and all other BeTeam members.
Leave a BeTeam (removes your membership, predictions, and chat history in that group)
- Open the BeTeam you want to leave.
- Tap the ⓘ info icon (top right).
- Tap Leave BeTeam.
- Confirm. You're removed from the group; your member record and unforfeited chips are returned.
Other deletion requests (email)
For any deletion not covered above (e.g. removing a specific reaction history, push token, or changing your display name to anonymize older predictions), email beteam555@gmail.com from your registered address with the subject "Data deletion request" and describe what you'd like removed. We process these within 7 business days and reply to confirm.
Retention after deletion
When you delete a comment, message, or leave a BeTeam:
- The user-facing content is removed within seconds across all clients.
- Soft-deleted records may persist in our database for up to 30 days for abuse-investigation purposes (no other use), then are purged.
- Anonymized aggregate stats (e.g. comment counts) may persist indefinitely with no personal identifiers.
- Backups containing prior versions are rotated out within 90 days.
What is NOT deletable while keeping your account
- Your email address (required for sign-in) — change via Settings, or fully delete via account deletion.
- Predictions on completed games — historical record, locked once a match starts. Email us if you have a specific concern.
