What is a Serie A prediction league?
A Serie A prediction league — a predictor game, a prediction pool, in Italy a lega di pronostici — is a season-long game where every member predicts the score of each match before kickoff and earns points for how close they get. Whoever accumulates the most points across the season wins.
It is not betting: no money is staked, there are no odds and there is no payout. That is the difference between this and a Totocalcio schedina — the prize here is the leaderboard among people you actually know, and the right to bring it up all year.

Points that everyone agrees are fair
BeTeam's default system rewards precision without letting one lucky guess decide the season. The organizer can change the weights before the league starts.
Then the multipliers the organizer switches on
This is what keeps a 38-giornata season open to the end: the organizer picks which multipliers to use, and they compound — a derby inside a doubled giornata is worth ×4.
Relative scoring is the multiplier a low-scoring league needs: Serie A produces more 1-0s and 0-0s than most, so calling the one result nobody else saw should be worth more than another safe home win. Predictions lock at kickoff, and points are calculated automatically from real results.
Is a Serie A prediction league gambling?
No. There is no money staked, no odds, and no payouts — members compete for points and the leaderboard only. It is a social game, not a sportsbook and not a real-money pools game like Totocalcio, which is why offices, schools and family groups use it.
Can I make the derbies worth more points?
Yes. The organizer can flag any fixture as a Super Game worth double, so the Derby della Madonnina, the Derby d'Italia and the Derby della Capitale swing the table far more than an ordinary giornata. Multipliers compound, so a Super Game inside a doubled giornata is worth four times a normal match.
How many people can join one prediction league?
There is no practical limit. BeTeam leagues run from a three-person family group up to office pools with hundreds of members, and the leaderboard works the same at any size. Everyone joins through the same invite link.
Can I join late or miss a giornata?
Yes. You can join at any point in the season and start predicting from the next fixture. Missed matches simply score zero, so late joiners start behind but can still climb. Organizers often start a fresh mini-league after the winter break for exactly this reason.
What happens if a match is postponed or rescheduled?
The fixture list updates automatically. If a match moves, its deadline moves with it and predictions lock at the new kickoff time. Nothing has to be re-entered and no points are lost.
Can I run other competitions in the same group?
Yes. The same group can also run the Champions League, the Coppa Italia, the Premier League, or any of the 75+ competitions BeTeam covers across football, basketball, American football, ice hockey, baseball and tennis — each with its own leaderboard.
